NFS Profiles with Kerberos

Install CentOS and NFS packages

  • Get and install a minimal install of CentOS onto a server
  • change hostname network settings
hostname SERVERNAME
vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
service network restart
yum update
  • install vim or another text editor
  • install NFS Packages
yum install nfs-utils nfs-utils-lib
  • install Kerberos Packages
yum install krb5
  • add nfs to startup
chkconfig nfs on
  • start NFS
service rpcbind start
service nfs start

Firewall

  • IPTables must be configured to allow NFS default TCP port 2048
